About the Job

We are seeking an Asphalt Plant Groundperson to join our team in Crescent Valley, BC. As an Asphalt Plant Groundperson, you will be responsible for safely unloading hot oil from delivery trucks, performing daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment, operating front-end loaders, skid-steer loaders, or other heavy equipment, and ensuring the efficient working condition of the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Safely unload hot oil from delivery trucks.
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
  • Operate front-end loaders, skid-steer loaders, or other heavy equipment.
  • Inspect and grease asphalt conveyors and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Shovel asphalt and other plant materials.
  • Responsible for plant production of materials and ensures the efficient working condition of the plant.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of oil, fuel, aggregates, and supplies to the plant.
  • Assist with stockpiling materials and feed the plant from the stockpiles in an efficient and productive manner.
  • Perform set up and take down of plants at different job sites as required.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years' experience within the road construction industry.
  • 1 to 2 years as an Asphalt Plant Labourer, preferred.
  • Valid class 5 driver's license and clean current driver's abstract.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanics and equipment repair.
  • Knowledge of welding equipment, tools, and methods.
