Accident Benefits Claims Specialist

Welcome to Intact Financial Corporation, a leading provider of insurance solutions in North America. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Accident Benefits Claims Specialist to join our growing team.
As a Claims Specialist, you will play a vital role in assisting our customers who have suffered minor injuries as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Our primary focus is to ensure a seamless and positive customer journey throughout the claims process. To set you up for success, we offer an accelerated training program that will equip you with the skills and expertise needed to excel in the insurance industry while building your foundational knowledge of accident benefits. The training will provide you with the confidence, understanding, and expertise required for your role.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate and adjudicate medical claims in a timely and thorough manner.
- Identify eligibility and/or entitlement to ensure quick access to all available benefits, promoting treatment and recovery.
- Manage claims while adhering to current provincial regulations and guidelines, as well as company protocols and procedures.
- Provide high-quality customer service, responding to queries from customers, legal representatives, and medical clinics.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a customer service role.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and negotiation skills.
- Computer literacy and ability to work in a paperless environment.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Capacity to work independently within a collaborative team setting.
- Ongoing commitment to self-development.
- Knowledge or understanding of medical terminology is an asset.
- University degree or college diploma in Health Sciences (Kinesiology or Psychology) is considered an asset.
- No Canadian work experience required, but must be eligible to work in Canada.
- Bilingualism (French & English) is an asset.
