Job Title: Research Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our team at Kensington Health Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the execution of all aspects of our studies, including literature reviews, data collection, and source documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct literature reviews and extract relevant publications.
  • Assist with the execution of all aspects of the study, including adverse events, safety monitoring, medication, questionnaires, and supervising investigational device consignment.
  • Coordinate data collection and source documentation, ensuring compliance with ICH/GCP guidelines.
  • Recruit and follow up with study participants.
  • Assist investigators and the clinical team with data collection.
  • Perform wet lab-related tasks as needed.
  • Provide timely study updates and reports.
  • Ensure all studies are in accordance with local, national, and international research-related legislation.
  • Assist with preparing for site visits and audits.
  • Develop and maintain databases.
  • Enter data, check for accuracy and completeness, and perform data re-entry and cleaning.

Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and work independently.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software, particularly Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic and clinical research experience in a hospital or university setting.
  • Database management skills.
  • Familiarity with clinical trial methodologies.

Education and Certifications:

  • Completed an undergraduate or higher degree.
  • Background or education in ophthalmology or optometry.
  • Certification in good clinical practice (GCP), TCPS2, and privacy.
  • Certification as a clinical research associate (e.g., SOCRA, ACRP accreditation).
