The Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Specialist to join our team in Toronto. In this challenging and rewarding role, you will coordinate the preparation of quarterly and annual external consolidated financial statements, work closely with external auditors, and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our financial reporting process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and coordinate the consolidated CPP Investments financial statements, including IFRS financial statement note disclosures;
  • Coordinate with external auditors on quarterly financial statement reviews and annual audit timelines and deliverables;
  • Partner with various departments to ensure timely and accurate production of financial statements and general ledger;
  • Assist in preparing quarterly audit committee presentation materials;
  • Lead continuous process improvement initiatives;
  • Act as a second line of defense for key financial reporting and disclosure controls;
  • Oversee the monthly general ledger close process;
  • Develop talent by coaching and training staff.
Requirements

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have:

  • A professional accounting designation (CA/CPA);
  • 6+ years of experience in financial reporting, with a minimum of 2-3 years in investment management or pension fund industry;
  • Strong technical accounting skills and internal controls knowledge;
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to manage competing demands from stakeholders;
  • Commercial approach to decision-making.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus benefits and opportunities for growth and development.
