Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker to join our team at Avish Constructions. As a Cabinetmaker, you will be responsible for designing, building, and installing custom cabinets and furniture for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and build custom cabinets and furniture using various woodworking techniques and materials.
  • Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers, to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
  • Prepare specifications of custom-made cabinets that maximize storage and meet client requirements.
  • Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files.
  • Instruct apprentices and provide guidance on woodworking techniques and best practices.
  • Study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made and ensure accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems to design and plan projects.
  • Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete units and reinforce joints.
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products.
  • Apply varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products and ensure a high-quality finish.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Supervise other workers and provide guidance on tasks and responsibilities.
  • Estimate costs and materials for projects and ensure accurate budgeting.
  • Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products to meet client requirements.

  • Stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, such as lifting and carrying heavy materials.

Experience
  • Have 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in woodworking or a related field.
