Job Title: Strategic Business Development Lead

About the Role:

Manulife is transforming its Long-Term Care business to provide high-quality and affordable care to customers, and we're seeking a strategic business development lead to support this vision. This role reports into the head of the LTC preferred provider network and involves developing and executing the preferred provider strategy, conducting market research, and driving business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategic plans for preferred provider solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify market trends, competitive landscapes, customer needs, and provider needs.
Conduct thorough market research to understand customer and provider preferences, using the research to identify opportunities for product/service enhancements, differentiation, and key business outcomes.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships, alliances, and collaborations, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and industry influencers.
Analyze business cases outlining potential benefits, costs, and risks associated with investments, supporting the creation of comprehensive business cases.
Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of preferred provider solutions, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to optimize performance and achieve targets.
Cross-functional collaboration with sales, marketing, HCD, operations, IT, and other teams to align preferred provider solutions with overall business objectives.

What We're Looking For:

A curious and data-driven individual who focuses on outcomes rather than output.
Experience in market research, strategy, or business development is highly desirable.
A strong understanding of long-term care insurance, healthcare insurance, or Medicare/Medicare in the US market is preferred.
Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and project management skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in a business role, with a proven track record of identifying, evaluating, and implementing solutions.
