Job Description

As a Patient Care Technician at DaVita, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and contributing to the overall well-being of our patients. You will work under the supervision of a RN and be part of a cross-functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Direct Patient Care: Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment.
  • Tech Duties: Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup.
  • Building Long-term Relationships: Establish meaningful relationships with patients who are suffering from end-stage renal disease and receive treatment on average three times a week.
  • Educating Patients: Educate patients on kidney dialysis-related topics and help them navigate their treatment options.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are seeking individuals who possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Desire to enter the healthcare field to care for others in need.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work comfortably around blood and needles.
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet.
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
