The Director of Operations is a pivotal role within True North Consultants, responsible for overseeing all aspects of site operations. This strategic leader is accountable for the supervision of direct and indirect reports, fostering a positive relationship with associates, and ensuring the establishment and maintenance of a healthy work environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Driving continuous improvement in Employee Safety systems, identifying issues, and implementing solutions to achieve a Zero mindset on employee injuries.
  2. Ensuring Food Safety and Quality systems are in place and exceeding customer expectations.
  3. Collaborating with the supply chain team to identify capacity constraints and ensure timely delivery of promises to customers.
  4. Implementing Performance Systems, Lean Manufacturing approaches, and proactive communication throughout the organization.
  5. Leveraging performance system approaches to lead by example, calibrate teams on performance, and drive results-oriented behavior.
  6. Achieving 3-5% cost savings annually through project identification and execution to improve OEE, reduce product waste, and eliminate unnecessary costs.
  7. Crafting and driving annual business plans focused on People, Safety, Quality, Service, and Costs.
  8. Leading Plant teams, setting clear goals, objectives, and expectations, and calibrating the team on results regularly.
  9. Monitoring daily operation schedules for accuracy and ensuring daily operational goals are realized.
  10. Providing strategic guidance through participation in cross-functional meetings and data analysis on sales trends and cost performance.
  11. Developing a 3-5 year strategic plan for the facility, ensuring supply and maintaining infrastructure needs to support organizational growth strategy.
  12. Enhancing facility stewardship and asset maintenance.
  13. Participating in new product development and planning by researching production costs and feasibility.
  14. Leading the implementation of new products for the facility.

This critical role requires a strong background in operations management, leadership, and strategic planning. Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering or Food Science, and a minimum of ten years of experience in a production facility, with at least three years as a Plant Manager. Experience in the food industry is highly preferred.

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
