Policy Analyst Position in Vancouver

We are seeking an experienced Policy Analyst to join our team in Vancouver. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for researching newsworthy stories, politics, and analysis of government / financial policies.
The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in political science, business or finance, industry experience or passion for writing or politics. Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret political data, news, and events, providing insightful commentary and predictions, are essential.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, responding quickly to breaking news and adjusting analysis accordingly. The successful candidate will also be comfortable using cloud and Android applications, including WhatsApp, Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs), Box, Salesforce, LinkedIn, and Slack.
Key Responsibilities:
- Researching newsworthy stories, politics, and analysis of government / financial policies;
- Staying ahead of Canadian news, politics, finance, and culture;
- Analysis of content and organizing your findings in a logical way;
- Conducting thorough research using a variety of sources, including academic journals, news articles, public records, and interviews;
- Collaborating with the Executive Producer of Coastal Front to prepare scripts for filming;
- Working with the marketing team at Coastal Front to write content and distribute through various online platforms and social media channels.
