About Banff Avenue Community House (BACH)

Banff Avenue Community House is a non-profit organization in South-East Ottawa. Our mission is to offer a safe, inclusive space for individuals, children/youth, and families to connect and access various programs and services.

Overview of Position:

We are seeking an experienced Digital Communications Specialist to implement a communication strategy that reflects our vision, mission, and culture. Key areas of focus include fund development, impact sharing, and ongoing acknowledgement of our work to stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Craft compelling narratives for impact reports, grant applications, and promotional materials
  2. Analyze data to inform marketing strategies and evaluate program success
  3. Maintain and grow relationships with stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, and community partners
  4. Coordinate with program leads to ensure marketing efforts align with organizational goals and values

Requirements for this position include:

  1. Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, non-profit management, or related field
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing, preferably in a non-profit setting
  3. Familiarity with various marketing platforms for efficiency
  4. Demonstrated success in fund development initiatives and impact reporting
  5. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for storytelling
  7. Profound commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and equity
  8. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with minimal supervision
  9. Bilingualism is an asset; proficiency in French, Arabic, Somali, Creole, or other languages commonly spoken among Black communities in Ottawa will be considered an asset
