About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Services Expert to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining relationships with our professional services clients, providing them with expert advice and guidance on business and financial matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain knowledge of assigned healthcare and professional customers, including their business needs, financial position, and terms and conditions of financial services used.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to healthcare and professional customers on business and financial matters, helping them to achieve their goals and succeed in their businesses.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including influential customers, referral sources, and partners.
- Respond to customer requests for service, providing guidance and support as needed, and ensuring their satisfaction with the service provided.
- Take steps to recover customer relationships when required, working closely with colleagues to resolve any issues or concerns.
- Plan and complete relationship-building activities that create sales opportunities, identifying new business prospects and developing strategies to engage with them.
- Stay up-to-date with market trends and developments in the healthcare and professional sectors, identifying opportunities to provide value-added services to customers.
- Identify potential business and personal banking needs and preferences of customers, working closely with colleagues to develop tailored solutions.
- Collaborate with Branch Managers and Wealth Management Consultants to ensure a total solutions approach is provided to each new and existing customer.
- Assist Scotiabank partners with structuring marketing activities to close deals with existing Branch customers.
- Respond to requests for business banking solutions, processing requests, conducting due diligence as applicable, and negotiating compensation for financial products and services.
- Authorise, renew, or decline customer requests within standard Bank policies and authorized limits, forwarding others as per established processes.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to customer accounts, adhering to Bank procedures and regulatory requirements.
About You
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Professional Services Expert who possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders. You will have a solid understanding of business and financial principles, with experience in the healthcare and professional sectors.
You will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a high degree of flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. You will also be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.

Education and Experience
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business law, and economics, or equivalent work experience
- Proven expertise in the healthcare and professional segment within designated marketplace
- Expert knowledge of Small Business products and services, selling approach, selling tools and calculators, as well as related internal software and technology platforms
- Thorough knowledge of risk management policies and processes, legal and security documentation for small business products
- Experience with interviewing, solicitation, marketing and business development techniques
- Working knowledge of branch procedures, processes and workflows, small business legal structures, life cycles and owner characteristic, and business financial statements within the healthcare and professional segments
- Knowledge of competitor offerings and alternate sources of financing
- Knowledge of economic conditions and political events affecting businesses, especially in the professional and healthcare segment
- The ability to build and maintain key relationships, influence and persuade others, tactical planning, implementation and organization skills
- A high degree of flexibility to adapt to a wide variety of tasks and functions, including being mobile to the district you are supporting to meet with customers and related COI's
