About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Center Representative to join our team at Freudenberg. As a key member of our service center unit, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, coordinating rush deliveries, and utilizing SAP software to prepare proposals and manage orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service via phone, email, fax, or in person, ensuring timely and effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate rush deliveries with production, tech services, and purchasing teams to meet customer demands.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, distributors, and outside sales staff, resolving issues and providing solutions.
  • Utilize SAP software to prepare proposals, quotes, and order placement, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage the receipt, shipping, and movement of goods, tracking status and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Monitor the status of existing orders and shipments, communicating with customers and internal teams as necessary.
  • Maintain facility resources and trackability of documentation, ensuring compliance with EBCA Quality Standards and HSE policies.
  • Support the service center unit with activities such as dismantling and cleaning mechanical seals and components, checking seal components for defects and dimensional deviations from manufacturing drawings, and static testing/dynamic testing.
  • Identify materials and decide if a repair is possible or replacement is required, producing reports for quotation purposes and scope of repairs.
  • Assemble/packaging seals for shipment to customers (new and repaired), meeting the requirements of EBCA Quality Standards and HSE policies.
  • Perform basic machining tasks (manual milling, surface grinder, and lapping) as part of seal repair.
  • React to change productively and undertake other tasks as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Understand and execute good housekeeping practices, such as 5S, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Support maintenance tasks when necessary, including equipment, building, fixture, change of layout, and machine installation.
  • Represent the department for external audits (ISO 9001, others), ensuring compliance and quality standards.
  • Support the annual inventory process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Act as an active member of the Quality Management System, auditing other departments and contributing to continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of related work experience, with a strong background in customer service, technical support, or a related field.
  • Intermediate level skills with SAP, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word), and database applications.
  • An advantage is a working knowledge of mechanical seals, blueprint reading, and materials (metals, etc.).
  • Ability to speak fluently and effectively to customers and employees of the organization, with strong organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and database applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently, and undertake site visits to customers, with good judgment and a professional demeanor.
  • English is mandatory, and French is a plus.
