The Ontario Cannabis Store is a pioneering organization in the recreational cannabis industry, aiming to provide safe and responsible access to adults 19 and older. As a Senior Business Transformation Analyst, you will be part of our agile Strategy & Transformation team.

About the Role

This critical position requires a proven track record in identifying, analyzing, and facilitating capability modeling and business case development. You will work closely with stakeholders to identify gaps in processes, data, and develop solutions to address business needs and drive growth.

  • Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships, ensuring open communication and collaboration.
  • Model and assess current processes through facilitation of brainstorming workshops and analysis of existing documentation.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources to understand stakeholder needs and build a comprehensive picture.
  • Foster discussions to identify target operating models, document conceptual target states, and address current state gaps, needs, and pain points.
  • Conduct research and data gathering exercises to support options and recommendations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop options and recommendations meeting business objectives.
  • Gather requirements and document detailed business requirements, use cases, and user stories.
  • Elicit, document, validate, and prioritize functional and non-functional system requirements in collaboration with business clients, end users, and project stakeholders.
  • Apply expert elicitation techniques to probe, challenge, and understand business needs.
  • Support or participate as needed in developing high-level rough order of magnitude cost estimates for project execution.
  • Influence and provide advice to business and IT stakeholders based on a view of the full cross-functional picture.
  • Ability to assess various options across a defined set of criteria.
  • Present assessment findings/recommendations, project status, and current issues to stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within quality targets.

About Your Day-to-Day Activities

  • Mentor and train junior BAs through methodology and approach.
  • Create a safe environment for junior business analysts to learn and grow.
  • Motivate and inspire others to achieve results.
  • Stay up to date on the retail industry and business trends via participation in professional associations, communities, and individual learning.

About You

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in a BA or similar role.
  • IT, Development, or QA background or exposure is an asset.
  • Conceptualize processes into process models.
  • Proficient (or strong knowledge) of the Business Analysis and Business Architecture Frameworks, Change Management Principles, and Project Management.
  • Experience in writing use cases, business requirements documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience developing process flows using BPMN 2.0 Standards.
  • Experience with business capabilities mapping.
  • Strong preference for experience in consulting and business transformation.
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CPAB) is preferred.
  • Customer-focused and collaborative.
  • Strong facilitation skills and writing skills.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Possess a strong desire to innovate with a willingness to understand concepts and get involved at the base level.
About the Job

This permanent, full-time position offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring a minimum of 3 days/week in the office. The OCS office is located near York Mills and Yonge Street.

Salary Range: $95,000 - $105,000 per year, dependent on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
