About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Airway Management Specialist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will be responsible for the initiation and management of mechanical ventilation, as well as acting as an expert in advanced airway management across all areas of the institution.

Your duties will include delivering and managing the administration of oxygen and other compressed gases, aerosolized medications, and high humidity therapies. You will also perform and interpret related pulmonary diagnostic testing, working closely with physicians to achieve optimal cardiorespiratory status for patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Initiate and manage mechanical ventilation, ensuring safe and effective care for patients.
  • Act as an expert in advanced airway management, providing guidance and support to colleagues as needed.
  • Deliver and manage the administration of oxygen and other compressed gases, aerosolized medications, and high humidity therapies.
  • Perform and interpret related pulmonary diagnostic testing, including spirometry and pulse oximetry.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong educational background in Respiratory Therapy, with a focus on advanced airway management. You must also hold current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists and certification in CPR at NRP and ACLS levels.

In addition, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Your attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks will also be essential in this role.
