About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Portfolio Manager Lead to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our MD Private Investment Counsel (MDPIC) team, you will play a critical role in driving the success of our business by leading a team of Portfolio Managers and implementing strategies to achieve our goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Portfolio Managers to achieve business objectives and deliver exceptional client service.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve portfolio management practices and enhance client relationships.
  • Collaborate with Regional Heads to oversee the onboarding process for new Portfolio Managers and provide training and education to all team members.
  • Support the recruitment of Portfolio Managers in your zone and work closely with the head office and MD PIC front office to support current and evolving projects.
  • Ensure all client portfolios receive continuous, consistent, and exceptional service, adhering to governing regulations and internal policies and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date on all financial matters affecting client investment activities and share knowledge with the Portfolio Manager community.
  • Interact with clients as required and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
Requirements
  • University degree.
  • 5+ years Portfolio Manager experience.
  • CFA designation or significant Portfolio Manager experience with the ability to become registered as a Portfolio Manager.
  • Experience in leading a team of highly qualified professionals.
  • Proven track record of performance excellence meeting targets and objectives while providing exceptional client service.
  • Bilingual English & French.
