Healthcare Planning and Research Specialist

About the Position
We are seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Planning and Research Specialist to join our team at the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB). In this exciting role, you will be responsible for providing professional assistance in the development of healthcare services, particularly through advising, monitoring, or supporting various actors in multiple programs and projects.
Main Responsibilities
- You will carry out research activities necessary for identifying and evaluating resources and needs.
- You will design and propose development plans and programs to ensure adequate planning of healthcare services.
- You will advise on the implementation or improvement of programs and/or services.
- You may participate in various teaching and training activities.
Specific Functions
- You will work in a multidisciplinary surveillance team and carry out analyses to develop health portraits of the population, study patterns and spatial and temporal variations in population health, identify public health issues, and identify priority issues of public health.
- You will develop future scenarios regarding the health status of the population and follow the development of specific health problems and their determining factors.
- You will be involved in the collection and compilation of data in accordance with best scientific practice of public health, analysis and interpretation of data, writing public health reports, and representing the Board in collaborative forums related to this mandate.
Requirements
- You must have a Bachelor of Science degree with specialization in health, social services, biology, or a related field. A Master's degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, or demography is a strong asset.
- You must have three years of relevant experience, including experience in health surveys or quantitative analysis of health and social data.

- You must be fluent in English.
- Fluency in Cree or French is an asset.
Additional Information
- This position requires travel inside and outside of the Eeyou Istchee territory as needed.
- This position is teleworking, but please note that regular physical presence in the office may be required.
