Heavy Equipment Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at Brandt. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy duty equipment in a shop environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate the working condition of heavy equipment, diagnose issues, and perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Operate hoisting devices to position machinery and parts during assembly, installation, and/or repair activities.
  • Test and provide constructive feedback on existing and newly manufactured industrial equipment.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning machinery and equipment.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Prepare electronic inspection and service reports.
  • Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel.
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proven computer and technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work.
  • Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs.
  • Strong time-management skills to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, showing an appreciation of customer needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • A commitment to high quality customer service with a strong people orientation.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
