  • At Verve Senior Living, we strive to provide a safe and clean environment for our residents. As an Environmental Services Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the building and grounds, ensuring that all systems and equipment are functioning properly.
  • You will be responsible for performing maintenance repairs, painting, and maintenance on equipment and supplies in the home. Adheres to all regulations and standards in accordance with the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority.
  • Grade 12 education is required, and at least one year of experience is preferred, with a background in the electrical or mechanical trades.
  • Able and willing to perform physical duties inside and outside the home when necessary. Must be able to move heavy objects and have the ability to co-operate with staff.
  • Rotational weekends and emergency call-in are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates actively in the Verve Quality Improvement (VQI) program.
  • Maintains the building in good repair and keeps free of hazards.
  • Monitors environmental fire safety conditions, equipment, and alarm systems.
  • Maintains the emergency pull cord system and emergency lighting system in good working order.
  • Performs periodic tests of systems and keeps required records of test results.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 education.
  • At least one year of experience.
  • Background in electrical or mechanical trades preferred.
  • Ability to speak and understand English.
  • Able and willing to perform physical duties.
