Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to join our faculty team as a Structural Engineering Professor at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. The successful candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering and timber engineering, with a proven track record of teaching and research experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a suite of courses related to structural engineering and timber engineering
  • Develop and deliver quality curriculum to all levels
  • Participate in continuous program improvement and administration
  • Contribute to the development of the civil engineering program
Qualifications
  • Current Professional Engineer registration in Canada or the U.S.A.
  • Graduate degree in structural engineering or civil engineering
  • Minimum four years of applicable design or construction experience related to civil engineering in North America
  • Industry experience and knowledge in timber engineering, construction management, and/or geotechnical engineering
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary engineering projects
  • Working knowledge of relevant and current civil engineering design software
  • Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Teaching experience
  • Experience in training, developing or mentoring technologists or junior engineers
