We are seeking a talented Junior Mechanical Designer to join our team at Smartrend Manufacturing Group. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating innovative and effective mechanical designs for our diverse customer base.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in new development activities, including research, design, prototyping, analysis, and qualification of various multidisciplinary products.
- Create designs and drawings of mechanical components and assemblies using Solid Works CAD software.
- Support definition of product test requirements and support test execution in onsite R&D lab.
- Help product hand off to manufacturing and in-field implementation, throughout Canada and the USA.
- Participate in initial and ongoing design and technical reviews.
- Assist in managing drawing database.
- Other engineering-related activities, as required.
- Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma from a recognized university or college.
- Possess creativity for product development.
- Computer knowledge and skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Solid Works or similar CAD software.
- Good communication skills to collaborate with customers and multiple-disciplinary teams.
- An energetic, diligent work ethic and able to work with little supervision.
- Able to travel within Canada, the USA, and internationally, as required.
- Starting salary between $50,000-$60,000 depending on experience.
