We are seeking a skilled Rock Masonry Craftsman to join our team at ROLL STONE GRANITE COUNTERTOP INC.

About the Job

This is a permanent, physically demanding role that requires a strong foundation in masonry techniques. As a Rock Masonry Craftsman, you will be responsible for preparing and laying bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles, and other masonry units to provide a solid foundation for various construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience in the trade and a secondary school graduation certificate. A strong understanding of blueprints and sketches is essential, as you will need to calculate materials required for each project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and lay masonry units: You will be responsible for cutting, trimming, and placing bricks, stone, and other materials to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Construct and install prefabricated masonry units: You will work with prefabricated units to build chimneys, fireplaces, and other structures.
  • Lay bricks or other masonry units to build residential or commercial chimneys and fireplaces: Your attention to detail and ability to work at heights will be crucial in this aspect of the job.
  • Lay radial bricks to build masonry shells of industrial chimneys: You will work on large-scale projects, requiring your expertise in masonry and precision.
  • Lay or install firebricks to line industrial chimneys and smokestacks: Your ability to work safely and efficiently will be essential in this role.
  • Line or reline furnaces, kilns, boilers, and similar installations using refractory or acid-resistant bricks: You will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of these installations.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Physically demanding: This role requires a high level of physical fitness and endurance.
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling: You will need to be comfortable working in a variety of positions and moving around a construction site.
