About the Role:

This Junior Underwriter position plays a critical role in supporting our Individual Underwriting team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for applying critical thinking skills to underwriting, including medical, financial, and non-medical risk factors. Your ability to work both independently and as part of a team will be essential in delivering exceptional client experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Learning and applying underwriting practices and procedures
  
• Complying with legislative requirements, consumer regulations, and reinsurance treaties
  
• Contribute to continuous enhancement of underwriting risk practices and procedures
  
• Building internal and external relationships to deliver exceptional client experiences
  

Requirements:

• 
  
• Bilingualism in French and English is an asset
  
• Bilingualism in Mandarin or Cantonese would also be an asset
  
• Post-secondary education with a focus in a health or medical field of study is strongly preferred
  
• Knowledge of individual life and health products is preferred, ideally with some previous underwriting experience
  
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities
  
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  
• Good knowledge of MS Office Suite
