**Strategic Planning and Implementation**



We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Strategic Partnerships and Initiatives Manager. This key role will be responsible for overseeing and managing resources needed to refine, implement, and measure strategic initiatives and associated projects within the Department of Athletics & Recreation.



**Key Responsibilities**




  • Develop and implement a dynamic strategic planning framework to implement the A&R strategic plan initiatives.
  • Manage multiple projects and establish multi-group teams as needed, overseeing resource deployment and ensuring successful project outcomes.
  • Develop and manage all aspects of projects from planning, consultation, communications, resources, budget, risks, and issues.
  • Support the development, planning, and identification of growth and strategic opportunities, performing gap analysis to identify specific needs and recommending solutioning.
  • Meet with the Director, A&R, and related community partners regularly to review the strategic plan and ensure alignment.
  • Manage the planning and execution of departmental events, including student leadership opportunities and connections between students, alumni, and community partners.
  • Work with the Communications Specialist to manage online presence and develop executive-level communication regarding all aspects of the projects.
  • Manage staff within the Strategic Initiatives Unit of A&R, responsible for personnel decisions and performance management, identifying and facilitating training/growth opportunities, and setting performance goals and measuring performance.


**Requirements**




  • University degree in a relevant field (e.g., communications, sports management, business administration).
  • Project Management designation (PMP) an asset.
  • 5-10 years of experience in strategic planning, communications, or a related field, preferably within higher education or sports management.
  • Solid understanding and broad-based knowledge of the University culture.
