About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Health Information Coder - Medical Data Specialist to join our Health Information Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for accurate and timely coding and abstracting of health information for our Hospital's acute inpatient discharges (DAD) and ambulatory visits (NACRS).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coding and abstracting health information from electronic patient charts
  • Ensuring accuracy and timeliness of data entry
  • Active involvement in data quality and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in Health Information Management or related field
  • Proven knowledge of ICD-10/CCI, CIHI Coding and Abstracting Standards, CMG, CACS, HIG grouping methodologies and MIS Functional Centres
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an acute hospital DAD/NACRS coding and abstracting environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
