Job Summary

The City of Ottawa's Asset Management Branch is seeking a skilled professional to join their team as a Capital Planning Coordinator. This role will be responsible for coordinating technical functions associated with overall capital planning and budget forecasting for the Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate capital budget management, monitoring and analyzing Departmental capital budget performance as projects are tendered.
  • Coordinate technical documentation supporting funding requests and coordination of capital forecasts through intake and review processes.
  • Complete or project manage various assignments, assist in the development of Branch decision support tools, and undertake research and analysis to support the Unit's role in the development of long range financial forecasts, asset management plans and implementation of the asset management policy and strategies.
Requirements
  • Completion of 4 year university degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible and direct experience in asset/infrastructure reinvestment planning, long range budget coordination for large municipal infrastructure, including capital and operating budget processes, asset depreciation modeling, budget monitoring, project/contract management, supervisory responsibilities, cost benefit and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is desirable.
