Job Title: Digital Pre-Media Designer - Packaging Industry

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Pre-Media Designer to join our team at Beneco Packaging. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced designer to work closely with our management team to create and rebuild electronic and printed graphic materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create comprehensive layouts and design electronic and printed materials for folding cartons, set-up boxes, trade exhibits, displays, and other channels.
  • Coordinate production (vector) artwork and virtual samples as each order dictates.
  • Assist the manager in rebuilding artwork files from clients, including creating embossing, coating/varnishing, stamping layers, scaling, cropping, retouching, and repositioning.
  • Be responsible for archiving and updating graphic files for future access.
  • As directed, modify files to increase the quality of production and ensure that standards are met.
  • Assist in developing specifications and standards for printing and other production.
  • Inspect proofs for accuracy and adherence to corporate standards, comparing vendor/production proofs to customer-approved proofs for accuracy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma with 2-year art/graphic design degree from a community college.
  • Computer skills: MUST have experience in vector-based software Adobe Illustrator (MAC or PC), with a high level of knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, specifically color separating art in Photoshop and working in the channels area of the program.
  • Proficient in the use of Acrobat, Workshop, and Microsoft Office.
  • A working knowledge of inks and print properties on various substrates.
  • An understanding of design and conceptual skills.
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and customers.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to respond quickly to changing situations and multitask.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
