About the Role:

Our team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Estimator to lead the completion of bid processes for infrastructure projects, including bridge works, roads, water treatment plants, and concrete. This role requires a strong understanding of unit rate bid process and software, as well as experience in P3, Design Build, Design Build Facilities Management, Lump Sum, and Construction Management contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Confidently lead a team through the bid process, assist with the bid process of Civil scopes on Buildings projects.
  • Be responsible for the growth and development of civil estimators in the group.
  • Assemble accurate, timely, and well-organized estimates, including lump sum, construction management, and design-build pursuits.
  • Work on multiple bids simultaneously, ensuring the integrity of each bid.
  • Organize and "bid level" sub-contractor quotes, re-writing binders and assisting Project Managers in the buy-out process.
  • Complete project-specific general accounts for various project types and complexities.
  • Pricing out various projects based on previous historical rates and productivity.
  • Monitor project success, noting potential challenges and risks.
  • Build relationships with sub-trades and suppliers for future opportunities.
  • Maintain databases, including labour rates, material pricing, and project costs, for future reference.

Requirements:

  • Construction-related degree/diploma and a minimum of 10 years of civil estimating experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • Strong understanding of unit rate bid process and software.
  • Working knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and construction contracts.
  • Estimating experience in P3, Design Build, Design Build Facilities Management, Lump Sum, and Construction Management contracts.
  • Estimating experience with bridges, roadways, and water/waste water treatment plants.
  • Ability to work effectively and accurately in time-sensitive situations within a team.
