Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at Comfort Keepers. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities to promote physical and mental well-being.
  • Assist with cleaning, sterilizing, setting up, and assembling medical equipment to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Supply and empty bed pans to maintain patient dignity and comfort.
  • Take patients' blood pressure, temperature, and pulse to monitor their health and well-being.
  • Serve meal trays and feed patients to meet their nutritional needs.
  • Weigh, lift, turn, and position patients to prevent injury and promote comfort.
  • Deliver messages, reports, requisitions, and specimens between departments to ensure seamless communication.
  • Make beds and maintain patients' rooms to create a comfortable and clean environment.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Bathe, dress, and groom patients to promote personal hygiene and dignity.
  • Transport patients between care facilities to ensure safe and efficient transportation.
  • Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher to accommodate their mobility needs.
  • Answer call signals to determine patients' needs and respond accordingly.
  • Collect specimens to aid in medical diagnosis and treatment.
  • Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing operative areas to ensure a safe and sterile environment.
  • Administer first aid in emergency situations to provide immediate care and support.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

  • Bending, crouching, kneeling to perform tasks that require flexibility and mobility.
  • Work Term: Permanent to provide stability and security.
  • Work Language: English to ensure effective communication with clients and colleagues.
  • Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week to provide a healthy work-life balance.
