Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Second Cup. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our café, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our food and beverage offerings meet the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain optimal inventory levels
    • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures
    • Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation
    • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
  • Staff Management
    • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
    • Prepare food order summaries for chef
    • Supervise and check delivery of food trolleys
    • Establish work schedules
  • Customer Service
    • Provide excellent customer service and ensure that customer needs are met
    • Respond to customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Inventory Management
    • Monitor and control inventory levels to prevent overstocking and understocking
    • Implement inventory management systems to optimize stock levels and reduce waste
  • Teamwork and Communication
    • Work collaboratively with other members of the management team to achieve business objectives
    • Communicate effectively with staff, customers, and suppliers to ensure seamless operations
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service or restaurant management role
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
    • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
