Job Description

Société de Chaudières Indeck is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Generalist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for administering human resources and payroll functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform the payroll function, ensuring timely and accurate tax filings and registrations using HR/Payroll software.
  • Benefit administration including enrollment and maintenance of employee data, reports.
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts, including job posting, candidate screening, interview scheduling, communicating with hiring managers, sending offer letters, pre-employment checks, and follow-up.
  • Lead the offboarding process by conducting exit interviews and generating voluntary departure confirmation letters.
  • Manage labor relations, including responding to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, programs, employee complaints/grievances, advising management in appropriate resolution of employee relation issues, and serving as the point of contact for employment relations.
  • Maintain current knowledge and application of all relevant laws and regulations relating to employment and ensure organizational compliance, including equal opportunity laws, guidelines, and policies.
  • Oversight of the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law, including educating and advising managers and senior leaders on HR-related legal and regulatory matters and ensuring HR programs, practices, and policies are aligned.
  • Ensure that employee files and records are properly and securely maintained.
  • Counsel management team on union issues, collective agreement application, disciplinary actions, and grievance resolution.
  • Administration related to safety compliance and incident investigation, devising strategies for training and development.
  • Occasional floor walks for employee assistance, connection, and interaction.
  • Respond to internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests.
  • Other HR administrative support duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bilingual in French and English.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Knowledge of Nethris (HR/Payroll software).
  • Knowledge of Synerion (Employee punch system).
  • In-depth knowledge of labor regulations and HR best practices.
  • Established organizational skills, flexibility, and a proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and writing skills, people skills, detailed-oriented, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Union experience a plus.
  • Navigate NAVISION experience a plus.

Estimated Salary:$90,000 - $120,000 per year depending on qualifications and experience.
This salary estimate is based on industry standards and may vary depending on various factors such as location, experience, and qualifications.
