Research Facility Manager

The Research Facility Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring optimal utilization of instrumentation and resources. This includes managing training and education programs, maintaining lab safety systems, and facilitating communication with stakeholders. The successful candidate will report to the CNBL Director and oversee scientific and technical staff associated with the facility.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage daily operations, including purchasing, calibration, and maintenance of equipment.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure provision of services to facility users.
- Provide professional guidance and consultation to internal and external users.
- Interpret data and develop solutions to complex research problems.
- Assist users in experimental design, selection of analytical methods, and data analysis.
- Manage billing, purchase orders, and operating budgets.
- Maintain user databases, including safety training records and project information.
- Acquire, analyze, and communicate data for financial planning and assessment.
- Remain up-to-date with recent developments and advancements in the field.
- Interact with industrial users and clients to generate revenue and support facility operations.
- PhD in Science or Engineering, or MSc/MEng with equivalent experience.
- Minimum 1-year experience in management.
- Extensive experience in neutron beam instruments or comparable instruments.
- Experience in processing routines and software for complex research equipment.
- Research experience in academic, industrial, and/or government settings.
- Experience in staff management, budgets, and projects within a scientific environment.
- Experience in developing new methods to extend experiment capabilities.
- Research publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
- Experience interacting with industry and regulatory entities.
