About the Role

Calgary Co-op, a leading retail co-operative in North America, is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Assistant to join its team at Beacon Pharmacy. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service experience for our members and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide top-notch customer service by interacting with customers and employees in a positive manner, enhancing customer services, and creating a healthy work environment.
  • Pharmacy Operations: Assist in the operation of the Pharmacy Department, adhering to the guidelines of the Alberta Pharmaceutical Association and the policies and procedures of Beacon Pharmacy.
  • Prescription Filling: Utilize a high degree of concentration when assisting in the filling of prescriptions, requiring attentiveness to detail and accuracy.
  • Inventory Management: Help manage dispensary inventories by ordering, receiving, and rotating stock and supplies, returning outdated and unsaleable product, and assisting in the inventory count.
  • Merchandising: Familiarize yourself with current merchandising practices and assist in maintaining a visually appealing store environment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the proper care and maintenance of equipment pertaining to the Pharmacy.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 education or an acceptable combination of experience and education.
  • Pass the Calgary Co-op Pharmacy Assistant test.
  • Completed a recognized Pharmacy Assistant Program (preferred).
  • Two (2) years of dispensing experience (desirable).
