About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Licensed Insolvency Trustee to join our insolvency tax practice in North York. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for helping debtors design strategies to resolve their tax debts, negotiating with the CRA, and performing initial meetings and sign-up meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet with debtors to develop personalized plans for tax debt resolution
  • Negotiate with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to secure formal settlements
  • Conduct initial meetings and sign-up meetings to ensure a smooth onboarding process
  • Chair meetings of creditors and negotiate with creditors as necessary
  • Establish a network of referral sources, including other professionals in the field

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience as a Licensed Insolvency Trustee
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Ambitious and driven, with a desire to build a successful practice
  • Compassionate, efficient, and a fast learner
  • Ability to build, lead, and manage a team of professionals to support the practice
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to prioritize competing tasks to meet deadlines and ensure client satisfaction
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail and logical problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and strong financial analytical skills
  • LIT, CA, or knowledge of income tax is an asset
