Job Summary:

The Healthcare Security Guard will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of clients, buildings, and assets. This includes greeting and assisting visitors, ensuring the security of patients and staff, and responding to emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Present a smart, visible, and alert security presence
  • Greet, assist, and direct members of the public visiting the premises
  • Ensure the safety and security of clients, buildings, and assets
  • Work effectively, both independently and as part of a team
  • Carry out all security duties as specified, including proactive and reactive interior and exterior patrols, response and assistance in emergency situations, documenting and reporting of any/all security events on shift, investigating routine incidents, patient watches, CCTV monitoring, parking and smoking by-law enforcement, hospital policy awareness and enforcement, access control/key control, monthly safety inspections, and additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Valid First Aid and CPR - Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider)
  • Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine (minimum double vaccination)
  • A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)
  • Completed immunization for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella are required at the time of hire
  • Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)
  • Minimum 6 months healthcare security experience preferred
  • Minimum 6 months of non-healthcare security experience preferred
  • Must be able to commit to full-time availability for no less than 6 months
  • English proficiency (oral and written) is required
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
  • 6+ months of customer service experience is considered an asset
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Stay Safe
