We are seeking a highly skilled Business Partner and HR Strategist to join our team at Runnymede Healthcare Centre. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity.

About the Role

This key position plays a critical role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care by providing strategic business thinking and expertise on all aspects of Human Resources.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on conflict resolution, performance matters, and other general HR issues to clients across clinical and non-clinical settings.
  • Stay up-to-date with current legislation and amendments or changes in relevant laws, including the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Labour Relations Act, Pay Equity Act, and any other applicable legislation.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive Human Resource Information Systems data, ensuring integrity and timeliness.
  • Offer counsel to managers and staff on human resources best practices and policies.
  • Foster strong relationships with employees, management, and key stakeholders to address needs proactively.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Human Resource policies, procedures, and programs that align with organizational goals.
  • Promote a safe and respectful work environment by addressing workplace violence, discrimination, harassment, return-to-work/modified work, and occupational health issues.
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, policies, and collective agreements during the recruitment and selection process.
  • Represent the hospital in day-to-day administration of collective agreements (ONA and SIEU) and provide interpretation for both managers and staff.
  • Deliver consultative and supportive services to managers and employees regarding employee and workplace issues, such as incident investigations, progressive discipline, and performance matters.
  • Collaborate in the planning and development of successful collective bargaining strategies and research existing Collective Agreements and Hospital resources.
  • Conduct salary surveys and market analysis for appropriate positions in accordance with hospital policy and advise managers and staff accordingly on compensation policies.
Requirements
  • University degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • CHRP designation is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a generalist role dealing with all aspects of Human Resource Management issues and practices.
  • Labor relations experience in a unionized environment is required, and Human Resources experience in a hospital environment is an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows Operating System, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated complex decision-making ability and creative problem-solving/critical thinking skills.
  • Statistical and report analysis is an asset.
