Futurpreneur is a national non-profit organization dedicated to fostering the success of young, diverse entrepreneurs in Canada. As our Business Development Manager, Indigenous and Northern Entrepreneurs, you will play a crucial role in connecting young entrepreneurs with the resources they need to start and grow their businesses.

About Futurpreneur

We empower young entrepreneurs, ages 18-39, to start, buy or grow their businesses in Canada by providing loans with mentorship and resources. Founded in 1996, we have helped over 18,700 young entrepreneurs promote entrepreneurship among Canadian youth and diversify the economy.

Your Role

You will report to the Head of DEI and Director, Indigenous & Northern Entrepreneurs, and be responsible for delivering programs and workshops to entrepreneurs across Canada. Your main tasks will include:

  • Acting as Futurpreneur's main point of contact for young entrepreneurs in northern communities
  • Facilitating informal gatherings with Indigenous and northern young entrepreneurs to discuss small business development
  • Supporting young entrepreneurs by reviewing their business plans and cashflows
  • Promoting awareness of Futurpreneur and partner programs to young Indigenous and northern demographics
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle (40% of this role includes local and territorial travel)
  • Willingness and ability to travel to remote northern communities
  • Relevant experience in sales, start-up business development, or economic development
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of barriers and opportunities experienced by young Indigenous and northern entrepreneurs
Benefits
