We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at TEEMA in Delta, BC. This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced professional to champion a safety-first culture within the facility.

About the Role

This position will be responsible for updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), developing safety manuals and policies, designing and implementing safety campaigns, investigating incidents, leading safety meetings, and more.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Provide training and coaching to employees on health and safety best practices
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement workplace health and safety programs
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar health and safety position
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO) and Advanced Occupational First Aid (OFA) certifications
  • A valid BC Class 5 driver's license
  • Certified (or working towards) Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Experience implementing health and safety systems and programs
  • Hands-on experience leading changes, conducting safety audits, WorkSafe claims, incident analysis, and conducting Hazards and Risk assessments
Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
