Strategic HR Leader

At Lake of the Woods District Hospital, we are seeking an exceptional Strategic HR Leader to join our team. This pivotal role plays a key part in driving positive change, fostering engagement, and dedication among all hospital team members and stakeholders.
The Director of Human Resources will be responsible for leading a diverse portfolio that promotes and advances LWDH's vision to provide extraordinary care for every patient. Key responsibilities include guiding inclusive practices, undertaking various strategic initiatives, and embodying the hospital's mission and values in every action.
This leadership position requires a servant leader who believes in empowering others to excel. The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field (Master's Degree an asset)
- Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) Designation (or in the process of) preferred
- 10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of HR policies, procedures, and employment-related legislation
- Strong knowledge of legal principles in Labour and Employee Relations
- Experience in the public sector and healthcare environment is highly desirable
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Strategic HR Leader will play a critical role in shaping the hospital's HR strategy aligned with its overall strategy. The successful candidate will be an experienced user of technology, including MS Office, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), electronic scheduling systems, and human resource information systems (HRIS).
The salary for this position is estimated to be around $127,118 per year, based on industry standards and location. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including five weeks paid vacation, discretionary days, health coverage, and more.
