Development Officer OR Senior Development Officer, Major Gifts

The BC Cancer Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development Officer or Senior Development Officer, Major Gifts to join our Vancouver team.
This role will play a critical part in planning and executing key strategies for potential donors, providing insight and strategy for high-quality prospect research and pipeline development and analysis. The successful candidate will cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of prospects through face-to-face meetings, phone calls, emails, and stewardship opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Cultivate, secure, and steward major gifts in the $25,000 to $500,000 range
- Develop an understanding of BCCF fundraising priorities and attend prospect and donor strategy meetings to recommend research strategies and approaches
- Maintain accurate, strategic, and timely information on prospects and donors in our database, Raiser's Edge, through coordination with database staff
- Qualify new donor prospects for further action in line with organizational fundraising priorities
- Identify new prospective donors, assess their gift capacity and potential, and contribute to the development of targeted cultivation strategies
- Identify giving patterns of current donors and high-level prospects, and identify donors with potential for growth and increased involvement with BCCF
- Set and achieve aspirational annual activity goals aligned with the priorities of the Foundation and BC Cancer related to strategic donor engagement, solicitations, and revenue generation
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in fundraising/donor relations or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- A willingness to work beyond work hours, evenings as required, and occasional travel throughout the province of B.C.
- A valid driver's license and regular access to a vehicle
- 5 weeks' vacation plus office closure between Christmas Eve and New Years, as well as half days office closures before each statutory holiday
