Calgary, Alberta, Canada Behavox Limited Full time
About Behavox Limited

Behavox Limited is revolutionizing the way businesses leverage data to drive growth and innovation. Our cutting-edge data operating platform empowers multinational companies worldwide to organize their enterprise data into actionable insights, protecting and promoting business success.

From mitigating enterprise risk and ensuring compliance to maximizing revenue and value, our innovative solutions activate data across every function within a global enterprise. We're on a mission to unlock new opportunities and solve complex problems by aggregating, analyzing, and acting on data in ways that others can't.

We're seeking fearless innovators with an insatiable appetite for building pioneering solutions. If you're passionate about harnessing the power of data to transform businesses, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer at Behavox Limited, you'll be part of an elite engineering team driving one of our flagship products. You'll collaborate closely with product management, design, and other engineering teams to tackle complex technical challenges and deliver exceptional products to our clients on time.

We prioritize candidates who are motivated by solving sophisticated engineering problems at scale, working with petabytes of semi-structured data. While knowledge of Python and JavaScript is valuable, it's not essential. As a Chief Data Engineering Specialist, you'll take end-to-end ownership across all stages of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), designing and implementing containerized and serverless components/services within high-load, data-intensive architectures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop Java-based scalable services and components using cloud-native technologies to build large-scale distributed systems processing dozens of gigabytes (or more) of data daily
  • Contribute to product requirement analysis to inform solution discussions and decisions shaping implementation plans
  • Collaborate during planning sessions, technical discussions, status meetings, and code reviews to ensure alignment and quality
  • Take ownership of assigned EPICs/Features, demonstrating autonomy and capacity to learn and adapt quickly
  • Ensure software quality through writing tests at all levels of the testing pyramid, including unit, integration, component, and contract testing, enhancing overall product integrity
What You'll Bring
  • A deep understanding of data-intensive architectures, cloud-native technologies, and distributed systems
  • 8+ years of experience building scalable and reliable server-side cloud-native applications, with solid knowledge of the latest version of Java
  • Proficiency in Spring Boot, Hibernate, SQL databases (MySQL, BigQuery), NoSQL databases (ScyllaDB, HBase), and message brokers (Google Cloud Pub/Sub, Kafka, RabbitMQ)
  • Hands-on experience with BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Functions for creating efficient data pipelines, event-driven applications, and scalable services
What We Offer
  • A truly global mission with a passionate community in locations worldwide
  • Huge impact and learning potential as our aspirations require bold innovation
  • $150,000 - $200,000 per year, highly competitive compensation package with 100% bonus pay integrated
  • Benefits include great health coverage for employee and family
  • Generous time-off policy and flexible work schedule
