Cancer Care Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Cancer Care Specialist to join our team in the Ambulatory Oncology clinic. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support.
Responsibilities- Clinical Practice: Provide clinical guidance and support to patients receiving chemotherapy, ensuring optimal treatment outcomes and minimizing side effects.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Pharmacy and Oncology teams to develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and improving patient care.
- Education and Training: Develop and deliver educational programs for patients, families, and healthcare professionals to enhance their understanding of cancer treatment options and promote informed decision-making.
- Leadership: Mentor and supervise pharmacy residents, students, and interns, fostering their growth and development as future leaders in oncology pharmacy practice.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to identify areas for enhancement and drive process improvements, ensuring we maintain the highest standards of patient care.
- Licensure: Must be currently licensed by the Ontario College of Pharmacists (Part A of the Registry).
- Clinical Experience: Relevant experience in oncology is preferred, but not required.
- Technical Skills: Working knowledge of OPIS and Meditech is desirable.
- Professional Development: Membership to CAPhO is an asset, demonstrating commitment to ongoing education and professional growth.
- Personal Qualities: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and written skills are essential, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
- Competitive Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
