Job Title: Director of Operations

Job Summary:

The Director of Operations is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of our production facility. This position requires a strong leader who can drive business growth, improve efficiency, and ensure the highest level of quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement annual business plans to drive growth, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
  2. Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of facility operations, including production, maintenance, engineering, and supply chain management.
  3. Quality and Safety: Ensure the highest level of quality and safety standards are maintained, and implement processes to continuously improve employee safety and food safety systems.
  4. Supply Chain Management: Work with the supply chain team to identify capacity constraints and ensure timely delivery of products to meet customer expectations.
  5. Performance Management: Lead by example and calibrate teams on performance, ensuring clear goals, objectives, and expectations are met.
  6. Cost Savings: Identify and execute projects to improve OEE, reduce product waste, and reduce unnecessary costs, delivering 3-5% cost savings annually.
  7. Strategic Guidance: Provide strategic guidance to the organization through participation in cross-functional meetings and data analysis on sales trends and cost performance.
  8. Facility Stewardship: Improve facility stewardship and asset maintenance, ensuring the facility is well-maintained and equipped to support the organization's growth strategy.
  9. New Product Development: Participate in new product development and planning, researching the cost and ability of producing new products.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required, with a preference for degrees in Engineering and Food Science.
  • Experience: Minimum of ten years of experience in a production facility, with a minimum of three years as a Plant Manager.
  • Industry Experience: Prefer experience in the food industry.
