The Opportunity

This field-based position is located in the Regina, SK area within the Core Lab division. At Abbott Core Lab, we're empowering smarter medical and economic decision-making to help transform the way people manage their health. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on our diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Perform emergency repairs, preventative maintenance, installations, and product updates at customer sites;

• Establish and sustain active communication links with CSC personnel, providing daily support for all territories as required;

• Provide comprehensive support for the sales organization's efforts, including repair and maintenance of demonstration equipment;

• Perform modifications and engineering updates at customer sites;

• Adhere to operating procedures;

• Manage assigned spare parts at optimal inventory levels, managing TSS Kits and individual spare parts inventory;

• Prepare detailed documentation of each service call, utilizing the assigned laptop computer;

• Complete service documentation and reports (service tickets, expense reports, inventory records, contract follow-up, reports, etc.) according to Abbott policies and procedures;

• Provide training for customers on proper operation of Abbott instrumentation at customer sites, as required;

• Create and perform Customer Technical Service Business reviews as needed;

• Recommend performance improvement strategies for the territory;

• Communicate with Sales Rep regarding concerns or recommendations;

• Develop Achieving Service Excellence in line with Core Lab Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• Three years of technical experience, with equivalent relevant experience required. A Bachelor's/Engineering Degree in Biomedical/Electrical/Mechanical or Medical Technology is preferred, along with practical experience interacting with customers;

• Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience;

• Willingness to work evening/night shifts;

• Ability to work unscheduled overtime and travel as required;

• Participation in scheduled 'on call' rotations for after-hours coverage, including after-hours, weekend, and holiday Technical Support Hotline;

• Requirements include lifting and transporting laptop computers, service tools, test equipment, and service part kits as needed;

• Some lifting and relocation of Abbott instrumentation during installations and routine service calls;

• Travel, including air travel;

• Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills;

• Ability to work independently.

Earning Potential: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
