The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Finance Director to oversee the financial functions of our organization, providing strategic direction on operational improvements where required. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the effective administration of all accounting functions, providing financial advice and analysis to our Executive Director and the board, and monitoring compliance with agreements and contracts, as well as all relevant policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement annual operating budgets, including projections, forecasts, and fee-setting methodologies;
  • Establish and maintain effective financial management systems, internal controls, processes, policies, and systems to safeguard our financial and physical assets;
  • Collaborate closely with our team and service providers to ensure frameworks related to commercial agreements and reporting metrics align with national standards;
  • Develop and implement efficient connections to the province-wide post-collection network, providing input to other collection services such as P&E and Administration as per service provider agreements;
Requirements:
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a relevant discipline, with a CPA designation in good standing;
  • Minimum five to seven years of experience in accounting, with a progression of complexity in the range of work; Experience in the non-profit sector is an asset;
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues, community stakeholders, and the board;
  • Proven capacity to understand financial management systems and processes, with practical solutions to meet ever-changing community needs;
  • Strong financial acumen and skills in oversight, management, analysis, and reporting;
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $95,000 annually, commensurate with experience, along with benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
