Architectural Conservation Assistant Summer Position Toronto

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Architectural Conservation Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for students or recent graduates looking to gain valuable work experience in a dynamic environment.
About the JobThis role involves working with our team to monitor provincial heritage easement sites, inspecting properties, documenting findings, and preparing building condition reports. You will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge of architectural conservation and work on various tasks such as analyzing easement property records, managing databases, and creating monitoring reports.
Responsibilities- Inspect and document easement properties
- Photograph heritage elements of properties
- Analyze easement property records to determine recent changes to properties
- Prepare monitoring reports of historic properties
- Manage easement property database (MS Access)
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary institution (currently or for the fall semester) OR have graduated within the past six months
- Be a minimum of 15 years of age
- Be a resident of Ontario during the term of employment
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada and have a valid Canadian Social Insurance Number (SIN) for the full duration of summer employment
You will need strong written communication skills to prepare a variety of documents, self-motivation and interpersonal skills to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, and technical skills to use Microsoft Office applications, digital photography, and databases.
BenefitsThis is a temporary position with varying contract length over the summer. The estimated salary for this role is $18.05 per hour. We offer a competitive compensation package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
