Closer to Home Community Services is a Calgary and Airdrie based not-for-profit agency dedicated to delivering innovative services for vulnerable children and their families.

About the Position

This full-time live-in position offers a unique opportunity for an individual or couple to make a lasting impact on children and their families. As a Foster Parent, your primary objective is to provide specialized treatment-oriented family-based care for children who may otherwise be placed in more structured programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day care for one youth, attending to their physical, emotional, and educational needs.
  • Participate in the process of family reunification, if appropriate.
  • Follow all legislative and agency-mandated policies and procedures involved in the care of foster children.
Requirements
  • Experience working with vulnerable children and families or the willingness and ability to develop your knowledge and skills.
  • Current and valid Standard First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Valid Alberta Driver's License and adequate insurance.
  • Ability to provide driver's abstracts upon hire.
  • Completion of a SAFE Assessment, Police Information Check, and Intervention Record Check.
