Community Support Worker

We are seeking a qualified Community Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis. As a Community Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing harm reduction services, overdose prevention, and support to individuals in our community.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a unique cultural lens based on your own experiences and perspectives to support individuals facing barriers and stigma related to addiction, homelessness, poverty, or incarceration.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide harm reduction services, overdose prevention, and access to community resources.
- Support program participants in achieving their goals and improving their overall well-being.
- Communicate effectively with program participants, staff, and management to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Comply with all OH&S and PHS employee policies and procedures.
- Lived experience of the challenges faced by program participants, including homelessness, substance use, mental health issues, poverty, involvement with the criminal justice system, and racial and gender discrimination.
- Grade 12 education or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- Access to and ability to use basic digital technologies, including smartphones, computers, email, and apps.
- Overdose prevention and intervention training.
