About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our team in Saskatoon, SK. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in the specimen collection process, ensuring patients receive accurate and timely test results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and prepare patients for specimen collection, ensuring they understand the process and follow necessary protocols.
  • Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings as required.
  • Collect and prepare specimens for transportation and testing, maintaining the highest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, responding to inquiries and following up on requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Enter patient demographics, requisition information, and other relevant data into our system, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
Requirements
  • Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent experience in phlebotomy, intravenous infusion, and/or intravenous therapy.
  • ECG training or experience is an asset.
  • Proficient data entry skills and excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining the highest standards of patient care and service.
