About the Role:

As a Global HSEC Assurance Leader, you will lead assurance and advisory engagements worldwide, with a strong emphasis on HSEC. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that health, safety, environmental, and community risks are identified, managed, and mitigated effectively, while also contributing to the organization's broader operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assurance and consulting engagements focused on HSEC and Industrial Operations worldwide.
  • Assess operational and strategic risks, particularly in HSEC-related areas, and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and community standards while identifying opportunities to enhance practices.
  • Deliver high-quality audit work aligned with established methodologies.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead audits with a focus on HSEC priorities, defining scope, budgets, and resources.
  • Develop detailed audit programs addressing HSEC risks and aligning with industry best practices.
  • Identify control gaps in HSEC processes, determine root causes, and collaborate with management to implement solutions.
  • Draft comprehensive audit reports highlighting HSEC findings and action plans.

Special Projects:

  • Conduct ad-hoc reviews, particularly in areas impacting HSEC compliance and effectiveness.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing insights into emerging HSEC risks.

Compensation and Benefits:

This highly rewarding role comes with an estimated salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive compensation, you can expect excellent benefits, including comprehensive health insurance, retirement savings plan, and generous paid time off.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A degree in Business, Finance, Organizational Behaviour, HSEC/ESG, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CIA, CA, CPA, CISA) are a plus.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an international environment, with exposure to HSEC-related roles or industries.
  • Strong understanding of HSEC risks and compliance requirements, ideally within the mining or extractive industries.

  • Exceptional communication skills in English; French proficiency is an asset.
  • A team player with a proactive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HSEC standards and an ability to influence positive change in these areas.
  • Highly organized with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Open to international travel (up to 30%) and continuous learning.
  • Holds a valid passport and Canadian work permit.
