About the Job

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Painter to join our team at ESSKAY HOMES INC. As a Painter, you will be responsible for preparing, cleaning, and sanding surfaces to be painted, repairing cracks and holes, mixing paint to desired color and texture, and advising consumers on colors and choice of wall coverings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Prepare, clean, and sand surfaces to be painted, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
  • Painting: Apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces, using airless spray equipment, brush painting, and roller painting techniques.
  • Estimation and Planning: Estimate costs and materials required for each project, and plan and schedule work to ensure timely completion.
  • Customer Service: Advise consumers on colors and choice of wall coverings, and provide excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in painting or a related field.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in physically demanding environments.
  • Equipment and Machinery: Experience with airless spray equipment, brush painting, and roller painting.
  • Surface Preparation: Experience with drywall taping/patching and sandblasters.
  • Coating/Application Specialization: Experience with multi-color finishes, paint spraying, staining, glazing, and wallpaper.
  • Security and Safety: Ability to pass a criminal record check.
  • Transportation/Travel: Own transportation.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colors, hand-eye coordination, and ability to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
  • Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
  • Personal Suitability: Flexibility, reliability, and ability to work as a team player.
